It is completely impossible to register for the GRE.

Dear GRE website and GRE registration hotline,

Fuck you.

Love, Julia

I re-colored my blog. I want to paint a room but I don't have a room to paint, so this is the closest thing.

Also, I hate homework.

The End.

If All Else Fails You Can Blame It On Me

Maybe I should pursue a future in music. I love the feeling I get when I'm singing, especially in a group. I love harmonizing and blending and reading difficult music. I'm pretty sure I get the same thrill from figuring out difficult intervals and rhythms on the spot while sight reading that other people get from crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
I don't think I would like being part of a professional musical ensemble if it meant that I would constantly be traveling for years at a time. I don't want to be away from my family and friends for that long.
Speaking of ensembles, my choir is working on some amazing songs this semester. I'm especially excited about a song that we're doing that I sang in choir my freshman year here called Past Life Melodies. It has this crazy part at the end where we create whistle-like harmonics that soar above the singing.
Also, the jazz a cappella group that I joined has a really great sound this year. Come hear us perform. : )

One More Thing...

By the way, this is exactly my sense of humor:

It's hilarious. You should read all the entries about Charles and Chester. Go back to the earliest entry to start from the beginning.

I have a meeting with one of my professors tomorrow about grad school stuff and two more meetings with different professors in the next week. I hope that they can give me some advice on how and where to apply to grad school. And what to study. The Psychology of Hearing class that I'm in this semester is pretty awesome and I'm hoping there's a way that I'll be able to combine the stuff I'm learning in that class with my interests in perception and music in grad school. That would be really cool. So I'm meeting with my Perception professor tomorrow and my Hearing professor next week, and then another random professor (for my Psychology of the Infant class) on Thursday just because she said she would be willing to talk about grad school with me. I've already kind of picked out a list of schools to potentially apply to when I was looking at Speech Pathology and I don't really want to have to research and make a new list of schools. Maybe my professors will just tell me where to apply.
