I'm not going to drink pop for a while. I'll just see how long I can do it. It makes me feel so unhealthy when I drink it, and it tastes so salty and makes me more thirsty. And it kind of freaks me out to subject my body to so many mysterious chemicals cloaked in brown, carbonated bliss. This has nothing to do with caffeine consumption. I'm currently enjoying a latte, and my addiction is as strong as ever. ; )
Posted by jujio at February 8, 2008 9:57 AMIf you want something to replace it, I suggest buying seltzer water and mixing it with a little cranberry juice. Its carbonated and tasty! (And I'm drinking a large cup of coffee right now as well)
Posted by: Allison at February 8, 2008 10:00 AMYeah, Allison - I agree with the cran-seltzer cocktail. I do it with ginger-ale sometimes (and a splash of lime), but that doesn't cut down on the sugar much... (I've already downed one mug of coffee this morning, and thinking about another)
Posted by: matty at February 8, 2008 10:46 AMYeah, cran-seltzer, maybe some vodka.. I got a little stove top expresso maker for Christmas. Bad idea. It makes like three shots a pop and I'll just sit there and drink that. Its kinda cool though, it works like one of the old stovetop perkalator coffee makers, where the water boils from one compartment up through the expresso grounds into another compartment.
Posted by: allison at February 8, 2008 10:59 AMOooh, cranberry seltzer! I've had it with orange juice, which is great, but I need to try cranberry! I also really should buy a coffee maker, because I currently get all of my coffee from Starbucks and my bank account is very upset with me. I would love an espresso machine, but they're so freakin' expensive!
Posted by: Julia at February 8, 2008 12:30 PMThis is what I have, its not too expensive-http://www.espressozone.com/espresso-makers.html?gclid=CPv0-5i_tZECFQluIgodiltQNg The only downside to having a coffee maker is that I tend to drink an entire pot
